DAY 1   Riga
Arrive in Riga with an optional transfer to your hotel. Tonight join your fellow travellers and Tour Manager at a welcome meeting.

DAY 2    Riga
Riga, the largest of the three Baltic capitals, demonstrates a true kaleidoscope of architectural styles. Start your day with a walking tour of the Art Nouveaux district and Old Town, where you will see Riga Castle, the Dome Cathedral, St. Peter’s Church, the Swedish Gate, and Freedom Monument. This afternoon, join an optional visit to Jurmala, a vibrant Latvian sea resort, famous for its wooden architecture and sandy beaches. This evening, enjoy an optional organ concert at the Dome Cathedral.

DAY 3    Riga
Today is at leisure to explore Riga at your own pace. This morning, you may choose to join an optional tour to the Gauja National Park and the town of Sigulda to discover medieval Latvia. Hear the medieval Latvian legend of the Rose of Turaida before you see the ruins of the Episcopal Castle and the Castle of the Knights of the Sword. This afternoon, join an optional visit to the Ethnographical Open-Air Museum, a spacious exposition of 18th century country life.

DAY 4    Riga - Tallinn
Today, travel along the coastal highway to the Estonian summer resort of Parnu where you’ll embark on a short tour of the resort, before continuing on through the North Estonian forests and arrive in Tallinn in the early afternoon. Check into your hotel and enjoy the rest of your afternoon in leisure to explore Tallinn at your own pace.

DAY 5    Tallinn 
Tallinn is a charming blend of medieval tranquillity and modern urban life. The medieval Old Town is a busy place in the summer with its many shops, galleries, souvenir markets, outdoor cafés and restaurants. Take a walking tour around the old medieval city walls and into the Old Town to see Toompea Castle, Dome Church, Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, medieval Old Town Hall and Great Guild Hall. This afternoon, take an optional tour to Kadriorg Park and a visit to KUMU, the award-winning new Estonian Art museum, with its collections of classic and contemporary fine art. The evening offers an optional medieval dinner at Restaurant Maikrahv.

DAY 6    Tallin - Helsinki
This morning,  take an optional day excursion to Lahemaa National Park, where you will visit Palmse Manor, and Sagadi Manor. The tour ends with a visit to the charming 16th century Vihula Manor and the Vodka Museum. Early this afternoon, board a ferry and enjoy a refreshing tour through the Finnish archipelago before arriving in Helsinki.

DAY 7     Helsinki
Helsinki is truly located at the crossroads of Western and Eastern culture, and this is reflected everywhere in the green and lively Finnish capital. After breakfast, take a walking tour around the city,  and enjoy a visit at the famous Church-in-the-Rock. This afternoon, take an optional excursion to Suomenlinna Fortress, a cultural treasure whose construction was started in the 18th century as a sea fortress.

DAY 8     Helsinki - Lappeenranta
Early this morning, board a train and head to Lappeenranta, arriving shortly after midday. Lappeenranta is beautifully set at the shores of Lake Saimaa and was an important Swedish fortress town in the 18th century and is now a popular resort town. This afternoon, take a walking tour of Lappeenranta’s historical Old Town, the port area and Lappeenranta Fortress, with its wooden and redbrick buildings, artisans’ shops, museums, wooden Orthodox Mary the Virgin Church and cafes. Late this afternoon, enjoy a walk to the pier to embark on a spectacular evening cruise on Lake Saimaa and to the Saimaa Canal.

Day 9     Lappeenranta - Helsinki
This morning, you are free to explore Lappeenranta at your own pace. You may choose to go shopping in the small boutique in the Old Town, try the Karelian cuisine or enjoy the atmosphere and the views at the port. This afternoon,  transfer to the train station and departure by train back to Helsinki.
