Day 1 Istanbul
Welcome to Turkey! Your tour commences with an arrival transfer to your hotel from Istanbul airport. This afternoon and evening are free to begin your exploration of this fascinating city.

Day 2 Istanbul
After breakfast, commence your full day guided city tour of Istanbul’s historic Old Town. Stop by Topkapi Palace, the former residence and administrative centre of Ottoman sultans, as well as the iconic landmarks of the Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sophia - considered one of the world’s greatest monuments. You’ll also visit the Grand Bazaar where you can partake in some shopping or simply be mesmerized by the myriads of alleys with ornately painted ceilings, endless rows of colourful stalls, craftsmen at work and shop owners hawking their goods. This indoor, covered market is one of the oldest and largest in the world and offers a vast array of products including traditional Turkish textiles, ceramics, antiques and more.

Day 3 Istanbul – Ankara – Cappadocia
Depart Istanbul for the Turkish capital of Ankara. Visit the Mausoleum of Ataturk, the burial site of the country’s first President who founded the modern republic of Turkey, and its accompanying museum. Continue to Cappadocia enjoying a picturesque journey along the Salt Lake. Arrive in Cappadocia in the evening where you will have dinner and overnight.

Day 4 Cappadocia
At dawn, you will have the opportunity to take an optional hot-air balloon ride over Cappadocia. Today, embark on a full day excursion exploring the volcanic landscapes of Cappadocia and its surrounds. Visit the underground city of Kaymakli or Derinkuyu followed by the open-air museum in Goreme and the natural fortress of Uchisar. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant and along the way discover the rich history behind local handicrafts such as hand-made carpets, Turkish tiles, onyx and potteries. Tonight, you will have the option to join an evening tour with a Turkish folklore show followd by dinner.

Day 5 Cappadocia – Konya – Pamukkale
Depart early for Pamukkale with a stop enroute at the 13th century Seljukian masterpiece the Sultan Han, one of the largest caravanserai in Turkey. Afterwards continue to Konya to visit the Mausoleum of Mevlana which houses the tomb of the 13th century Persian poet Rumi. This sacred site became an integral part of Sufism and Mevlevi culture, serving as a lodge and spiritual centre for the Whirling Dervishes. Day 6 Pamukkale – Izmir
After breakfast, visit the ancient city of Hierapolis with its magnificent Necropolis and lime cascades and thermal pools. Afterwards, drive to Selcuk to visit the Temple of Artemis, ''one of the seven wonders of the ancient world'', then continue to Izmir where you will overnight.

Day 7 Izmir – Ephesus – Sirince – Izmir
This morning drive to the Ephesus Archaeological site, a Greco-Roman city with over 2,000 years of history. Visit the ancient city’s historic sites including its magnificent library, many temples and the Virgin Mary’s House, reputedly the home of the mother of Jesus. Experience lunch of Turkish gozleme in a nomadic tent in nearby Selcuk then stop by the charming village of Sirince. Considered one of the most beautiful towns in Turkey, Sirince sits on a hillside and is known for its well-preserved Ottoman Christian architecture and stone houses. Enjoy a spot of shopping and taste the delicious local wines of the village before returning to Izmir.

Day 8 Izmir
Your Turkish Discovery tour concludes after breakfast with a departure transfer to Izmir Airport or Kusadasi port for your onward journey.
