DAY 1 Istanbul
Your tour commences with an arrival transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure to begin your exploration of this fascinating city. Perhaps browse the streets and taste Turkish cuisines at every corner or sit at an exotic cafe and simply soak up the atmosphere.

DAY 2 Istanbul
A full-day, guided city tour of Istanbul’s Old Town includes visits to the former seat of Ottoman power - Topkapi Palace, 12th century Hagia Sophia (exterior only*), the iconic Blue Mosque and the Spice Market with its tempting sights and aromas. You will understand why Istanbul served as a focal point of several ancient empires as numerous architectural wonders from those glorious eras still stand tall in the heart of the city.

DAY 3 Istanbul - Gallipoli - Canakkale
Today, drive along the Dardanelles Strait to the battlefields of Gallipoli, which fought for the Entente's (UK, France and Russia) campaign to weaken the Ottoman Empire in World War I. See the sombre sites of Anzac Cove, the Nek, Lone Pine, Conk Bair and the 57th Regiment Memorial, and take a moment to commiserate those who have died in the war. Cross to Canakkale to overnight.

DAY 4 Canakkale - Troy - Pergamum - Kusadasi
A short drive brings you to the ruins of Troy, founded 5,000 years ago and famous through the tales of the Trojan War in Homer’s Iliad. After your tour, continue to the ancient Greek city of Pergamum, a once rich and powerful city in Asia Minor and see its Acropolis perched atop a high, steep-sided hill to the northeast of the modern city centre. It is embellished with beautiful monuments like the Temple of Trojan, the Temple of Athena and the Hellenistic Theatre.

DAY 5 Kusadasi - Ephesus - Sirince - Kusadasi
Today’s excursion takes you to spectacular Ephesus, a Greco-Roman city with 2,000 years of history. Explore the city’s many historic temples and appreciate its local handicrafts like hand-made carpets and leather. Later, you will also visit one of Turkey's most scenic hilltop villages, Sirince, where you can shop and taste delicious produce such as wines. Return to Kusadasi for overnight.

DAY 6 Kusadasi - Hierapolis - Pamukkale
Drive through the fertile plains and cotton farms of western Turkey to the ancient city of Hierapolis. An ancient Roman spa city founded around 190 B.C., ruins there include a magnificent theatre and necropolis. After a short tour, head to the nearby Pamukkale, known for its mineral-rich thermal waters, and marvel at the lime cascades and thermal pools, one of Turkey’s natural wonders.

DAY 7 Pamukkale – Koycegiz – Fethiye
Depart Pamukkale for the charming lakeside town of Koycegiz, where you can take a boat cruise to Turtle Beach to see loggerhead turtles and after, smother yourself in mud at the local hot springs. Travel to Fethiye for overnight.

DAY 8 Fethiye - Kayakoy & Oludeniz - Fethiye
Following breakfast, spend the morning exploring the quaint Greek museum village of Kayakoy. Mostly abandoned at the end of the Greco-Turkish War in 1923, there is a unique sense of peace and tranquillity, plus the breath-taking views from the top. In the afternoon, visit Oludeniz, one of Turkey’s most famous beaches and enjoy a swim in the crystal-blue Aegean Sea before returning to your hotel. At night, an optional sunset cruise with dinner is available.

DAY 9 Fethiye - Antalya
Leave Fethiye for Antalya and take a walk in its Old Town, of its ancient, narrow cobbled streets lined with old Ottoman houses and shady stone courtyards. Visit Hadrian's Gate, built in the name of the Roman emperor and learn about the history of this once-major-Roman port city. Finish your day with Duden Waterfalls, where its lower end spills off a rocky cliff directly into the Mediterranean Sea.

DAY 10 Antalya (Aspendos) - Konya - Cappadocia
A morning visit to the well-renowned Roman amphitheatre of Aspendos, built in the 2nd century that some say is as impressive as Rome's own Colosseum, is followed by a tour of the Monastery of the Mevlana Whirling Dervishes in Konya. Afterwards, drive via the 13th century Sultan Han, the largest caravanserai in Turkey, on the famed Silk Road to biblical Cappadocia.

DAY 11 Cappadocia
At dawn, you have the opportunity to take an awe-inspiring balloon ride over Cappadocia (optional). Then join a fascinating, full-day excursion around the region's volcanic landscape including visits to Kaymakli Underground City, Goreme Open Air Museum and the natural fortress in Uchisar. At night, why not take up the optional to have a fun Turkish folklore evening with dinner and show?

DAY 12 Cappadocia – Ankara – Safranbolu
Depart for Ankara, the Turkish capital, where you will visit the Mausoleum of Ataturk and its Museum. This is the burial place of the national hero Mustafa Kemal (also the first president) who founded modern Republic of Turkey. Continue onto Safranbolu, a UNESCO World Heritage town and stay at an old Ottoman mansion tonight.

DAY 13 Safranbolu - Istanbul
After breakfast, tour Safranbolu’s beautiful Old Town where you can sample some of the finest Turkish delights, then return to Istanbul and visit the labyrinth of 61 streets and over 4,000 shops in the city's most famous Grand Bazaar, often regarded as one of the first shopping malls of the world.
