Uncover the jewels of this ancient country on a 5-day tour that takes you to the iconic places in the region. Starting with the majestic capital of Bucharest, travel to see the famous Peles Castle and Bran Castle, and stopping at lovely towns like Brasov and Sibiu, you will gain a full appreciation of the Romanian landscape, history, culture, traditions and the people.
Day 1 Bucharest - Sinaia
Welcome to Romania! Your tour commences this morning by meeting your tour guide at 09.00 hrs from the lobby of your hotel for a city tour of Bucharest. See the Palace of Parliament, Cotroceni Palace, Archbishop's Church, Arch of Triumph, Revolution Square and so on. Later, depart for the impressive Peles Castle which was built in 1875 as the summer residence of King Carol I of Romania. Admire its fine collection of paintings, sculptures and furniture, before heading to the 17th century Sinaia Monastery. After lunch, you will have free time to explore Sinaia before dinner.

Day 2 Sinaia - Bran - Brasov
Today, you will visit Bran Castle, famous for its striking beauty and the legend of Count Dracula. It is actually a national monument and landmark built in 1377, often associated with Vlad the Impaler who was believed to have been imprisoned there after his capture by the Hungarians in 1462. Then continue to Brasov for lunch with a stop at the Old Town Hall and the Black Church, the latter built by the local Saxons during medieval times which represents the main Gothic-style monument in the country. Your day ends with dinner and overnight in this Transylvanian city.

Day 3 Brasov - Sighisoara - Alba Iulia - Sibiu
After breakfast, drive to Sighisoara where you will visit the only fully-inhabited medieval citadel in Europe. Enjoy a tour of the citadel, including the Tower Museum, Cover Stairs, 14th century Church on the Hill and Medieval Weapons Collection. Proceed to Biertan for the Fortified Church and to Alba Iulia with its fortress and Cathedral of Reunion. Lastly, at the nearby village of Sibiel, dine at a local restaurant before overnight in Sibiu.

Day 4 Sibiu - Bucharest
On a morning walking tour of Sibiu, visit the medieval fortress, Liar's Bridge, and one of the best galleries in Romania - the Bruckenthal Art Museum. Depart Sibiu for Cozia Monastery, built in 1388 and one of the country's most valuable monuments of medieval architecture. Afterwards, leave for Curtea de Arges, a former 14th century Wallachian capital, to visit its 6th century monastery. Return to Bucharest in the early evening and dinner is at your own leisure.

Travel along the Transfagarasan Mountain Road, one of the most spectacular in the world. Built between 1970 and 1974 by the military forces, th Transfagarasan has more tunnels and viaducts than any other road in Romania. Later, visit Curtea de Arges Monastery, a former 14th century Wallachian capital before returning to Bucharest for overnight. Dinner is at your own leisure.

Day 5 Bucharest
