Travel through some of Poland's must see locations on this 11 day tour through the heart of the country. Starting at the capital city, Warsaw, journey down to the marvellous Tatra mountains before going to the medieval city of Krakow. Here you will learn all about its history, both good and bad, before going to the Baltic Sea and the city of Gdansk, passing wonderful cultural centers along the way. Along the journey makes stops at beautiful old monasteries and enjoy delightful Polish food. This adventure truly will allow you to soak in everything Poland has to offer.
DAY 1 Warsaw
Arrive in Warsaw with an optional transfer to your hotel. In the evening, meet your fellow tour members for a drive along the Royal Route, a short walk through the Old Town and dinner at a local restaurant including typical Polish dishes and famous Polish vodka 'Zubrowka'.

DAY 2 Warsaw
Your half-day sightseeing tour includes highlights such as the Old Town, beautifully rebuilt after WWII, the impressive Royal Castle, seat of Polish kings, and the former Warsaw Ghetto. You will also have the chance to walk through the Market square full of restaurants, shops and galleries. Pass through the late-Gothic structure by John the Baptist of Venice, stop by the Monument of Warsaw's Uprising, see the Tomb of Unknown Soldier and more! Lunch will be served in a local restaurant. In the late afternoon, enjoy a Chopin concert, performed by a pianist in a two-part recital.

DAY 3 Warsaw - Czestochowa - Zakopane
Your journey continues south to Zakopane. En-route, you will visit Yasna Gora Monastery in Czestochowa, home to the famous Black Madonna, with Lunch at a local restaurant. On arrival, check-in at your hotel and start your discovery of Zakopane, nestled at the foot of the Tatra Mountains, a popular winter and summer resort.

DAY 4 Zakopane - Krakow
Enjoy a sightseeing tour of this picturesque town, renowned for its many beautiful wooden churches and chapels. Whilst there, take a cable car up Gubalowka Mountain for spectacular views of the High Tatra Mountains. En-route to Krakow, enjoy a leisurely boat trip along the scenic Dunajec River.

DAY 5 Krakow - Auschwitz - Krakow
In the morning, journey to Auschwitz-Birkenau to visit the Martyrdom Museum. Learn of the atrocities that occurred, and how it cannot be forgotten. After taking this in, travel back to Krakow. In the afternoon visit the Kazimierz (Jewish Quarter), established in 1335, which became one of the European centres of Jewish culture.

DAY 6 Krakow - Wieliczka - Krakow
Embark on a sightseeing tour where you will visit some of the main attractions of Krakow. Climb the Wawel Hill to see the Royal castle and Wawel Royal Cathedral. This is a beautiful location, steeped in history, where Polish kings were crowned and buried. Continue to the old town, then the restored main square and see the brick gothic church of St Mary's Basilica. In the afternoon, enjoy an excursion to the Wieliczka Salt Mine. Salt has historically been incredibly important, and this is evident in the great chambers of this mine.
Note: The Wieliczka Salt Mine tour lasts for 2-3 hours and contains 800 stairs along the entire route, with the temperature staying between 17-18 degrees all year round, so appropriate clothing is required.

DAY 7 Krakow - Lowicz - Torun
Depart this morning to Torun. On the way, you will stop in Lowicz, a typical Mazovian town famous for its folk art and colourful costumes. Here, you will experience a typical polish way with bread, salt, and a home-hosted lunch with a local family. Continue to Torun and enjoy the rest of your day at leisure.

DAY 8 Torun - Gdansk
This morning, take a guided tour of Torun, considered as one of the most significant historic cities of Poland. Its Old Town has been included in UNESCO’s list for its impressive 13th century Town Hall, superb churches and historic streets preserving Torun’s past glory. After lunch (own expense), depart to the northern city of Gdansk, located on the coast of the Baltic Sea. On arrival there is time for a brief orientation walk through the Old Town.

DAY 9 Gdansk - Gdynia - Sopot - Oliwa - Gdansk
After breakfast, drive to Gdynia, the youngest of the tri-city complex, which also includes Sopot, the famous and fashionable seaside resort with the oldest and longest wooden pier in Europe. Visit Oliwa Cathedral famous for its one-of-a-kind pipe organ, to enjoy a concert. In the afternoon depart for Warsaw, check in to your hotel, and enjoy the rest of the evening at leisure.

DAY 10 Gdansk - Warsaw
Today you will enjoy a sightseeing tour of Gdansk and its surroundings. Visit the Upland Gate, a fragment of the city's former fortifications and one of its main gates. Just behind it, you will pass by baked-brick construction consisting of the Prison Tower and the Torture House. Then, visit the Golden Gate where you will see the Long Market, a magnificent street with grand mansions decorated with late Renaissance and Baroque facades and more. Also, visit Mariacka Street, with its gabled terraced houses and elegant boutiques.
Lunch will be served in one of the local restaurants before you continue to Warsaw.

Day 11 Warsaw
Your Treasures of Poland tour concludes after breakfast with an optional departure transfer.
