An adventurous 14 day escorted tour that captures the entire beauty of Poland in a round trip that begins and ends in Warsaw. Surround yourself in Polish royalty in the restored capital Warsaw, witness the precious Black Madonna in the pilgrimage city of Czestochowa, be in absolute awe of the natural splendor of the Tatra Mountains in Zakopane, wander through the 13th Century heritage town of Torun, uncover the dark past of Poland in Auschwitz, before completing the journey in Warsaw.
DAY 1 Warsaw
Arrive in Warsaw with an optional transfer to your hotel. In the evening, meet your fellow tour members for a drive along the Royal Route, a short walk through the Old Town and dinner at a local restaurant including typical Polish dishes and famous Polish vodka 'Zubrowka'.

DAY 2 Warsaw
A half-day sightseeing tour includes highlights such as the Old Town, beautifully rebuilt after WWII, the impressive Royal Castle, seat of Polish kings, and the former Warsaw Ghetto. You will also have the chance to walk through the Market square full of restaurants, shops and galleries. Pass through the late-Gothic structure by John the Baptist of Venice, stop by the Monument of Warsaw's Uprising, see the Tomb of Unknown Soldier and more. In the late afternoon, enjoy a Chopin concert, performed by a pianist in a two-part recital.

DAY 3 Warsaw - Czestochowa - Auschwitz - Krakow
Your journey continues south to Krakow. En-route, you will visit Jasna Gora in Czestochowa, home to the famous Black Madonna. Another stop at Auschwitz, the site of the former Nazi Concentration Camp Auschwitz-Birkenau and the infamous death factory. On arrival in Krakow, check-in at your hotel with the evening at leisure.
Note: Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum requires guests to provide an ID document or Passport on the day of the tour.

DAY 4 Krakow - Wieliczka - Krakow
Krakow, the ancient capital of Poland, is a royal city located on the Vistula River. Your sightseeing tour includes the Royal Castle and Cathedral on Wawel Hill and the Old Town with its Market Square. In the afternoon, enjoy an excursion to the Wieliczka salt mine. Salt has historically been incredibly important, and this is evident in the great chambers of this mine.
Note: The Wieliczka Salt Mine tour lasts for 2-3 hours and contains 800 stairs along the entire route, with the temperature staying between 17-18 degrees all year round, so appropriate clothing is required. Also, the lift going down the mine is subject to confirm on the spot.

DAY 5 Krakow - Zakopane
This morning, visit the Kazimierz - Krakow's historic Jewish Quarter, now a jumble of indie galleries, quirky shops, vintage clothing stores and bars. Established in 1335, it became one of the European centres of Jewish culture. After lunch (own expense), drive to Zakopane, beautifully situated at the foot of the Tatra Mountains. It was once a small mountain village, now a fashionable winter and summer location.

DAY 6 Zakopane
Enjoy a morning sightseeing tour of this picturesque town, renowned for its many beautiful wooden churches and chapels, and take a cable car up Gubalowka Mountain for spectacular views of the High Tatra Mountains. There are also many shops with local arts and crafts made by the Highlanders (Gorale). Your afternoon is free to explore further this well-known resort town.
Note: The Funicular to Gubalowka Mountain is subject to confirmation on spot; service depends on the weather and funicular technical conditions.

DAY 7 Zakopane - Wadowice - Wroclaw
Travel to Wadowice, the birthplace of John Paul II, where you will see the house where he was born and grew up. In the Basilica of Wadowice, where Karol Wojtyla (Pope John Paul II) was baptised, you can still see the special plaque that commemorates this fact as well as a stone font where the Pope prayed during his first pilgrimage to Poland in 1979. After lunch at a local restaurant, continue west to Wroclaw or also known as the 'Venice of the North'.

DAY 8 Wroclaw - Poznan
Wroclaw is one of Poland's most attractive cities with a big city atmosphere and a wonderful historical core. This morning, you will be taken on a sightseeing tour, which includes the Old town, the Salt Market Square and the 18th Century University. You will also see Ostrow Tumski, the residence of the bishops and princes in the middle ages. Afterwards, travel to the small town of Poznan where dinner is served at the hotel.

DAY 9 Poznan - Torun
Enjoy a short sightseeing tour of Poznan and visit the Old Town with its famous Renaissance Town Hall, now housing the Historic Museum. In the middle of the attic, above the clock, you can see two metal goats butting their horns 12 times every day at noon. After lunch at a local restaurant, continue to Torun, considered as one of the most significant historic cities of Poland.

DAY 10 Torun - Gdansk
This morning, take a guided tour of Torun, considered as one of the most significant historic cities of Poland. Its Old Town has been included in UNESCO’s list for its impressive 13th century Town Hall, superb churches and historic streets preserving Torun’s past glory. After lunch in a local restaurant, depart to the northern city of Gdansk, located on the coast of the Baltic Sea. On arrival, there is time for a brief orientation walk through the Old Town.

DAY 11 Gdansk - Gdynia - Sopot - Gdansk
Today, enjoy a full day of sightseeing of Gdansk and it surrounding cities. Visit the Upland Gate - a fragment of the city's former fortifications and one of its main gates, Long Market - a magnificent street, with grand mansions decorated with late Renaissance and Baroque facades. Also visit Mariacka Street, with its gabled terraced houses and elegant boutiques. After lunch (own expense), drive to Gdynia, the youngest of the tri-city complex. Visit Oliwa Cathedral famous for one-of-a-kind pipe organ, to enjoy a concert. On to Sopot, the famous and fashionable seaside resort with the oldest and longest wooden pier in Europe. Return to Gdansk where you will overnight.

DAY 12 Gdansk - Olsztyn
Have a leisurely morning after breakfast, possibly purchasing some of the world renowned local amber. After lunch, continue to Olsztyn, located in northeast Poland in the beautiful Masurian Lakelands region. Visit the historic centre surrounded by fortified walls followed by an open-air picnic folklore dinner in Gietrzwlad.

DAY 13 Olsztyn - Olsztynek - Lowicz - Warsaw
Start your exploration with a visit the Ethnographic Park in Olsztynek, one of the oldest open-air museums in Europe. View the interesting examples of folk architecture, including houses, barns, windmills and other traditional buildings and items which display the craftsmanship of this particular region. In the afternoon, continue to Lowicz, a typical Mazovian town famous for its folk art and colourful costumes. After a home-hosted dinner with a local family, continue to Warsaw.
