Experience the unique culture of Poland on this magical 7 day escorted tour. As you travel south, surround yourself in Polish royalty in the restored capital Warsaw, witness the precious Black Madonna in the pilgrimage city of Czestochowa, be in absolute awe of the natural splendour of the Tatra Mountains in Zakopane, uncover the dark past of Poland in Auschwitz, before completing the journey in the southern ancient capital of Krakow.
DAY 1 Warsaw
Arrive in Warsaw with an optional transfer to your hotel. In the evening, meet your fellow tour members for a drive along the Royal Route, a short walk through the Old Town to dinner at a local restaurant including typical Polish dishes and famous Polish vodka 'Zubrowka'.

DAY 2 Warsaw
A half-day sightseeing tour includes highlights such as the Old Town, beautifully rebuilt after WWII, the impressive Royal Castle, seat of Polish kings, and the former Warsaw Ghetto. You will also have the chance to walk through the Market square full of restaurants, shops and galleries. Pass through the late-Gothic structure by John the Baptist of Venice, stop by the Monument of Warsaw's Uprising, see the Tomb of Unknown Soldier and more. In the late afternoon, enjoy a Chopin concert, performed by a pianist in a two-part recital.

DAY 3 Warsaw - Czestochowa - Zakopane
Your journey continues south to Krakow. En-route, you will visit Jasna Gora in Czestochowa, home to the famous Black Madonna, with lunch at a local restaurant. On arrival, check-in at your hotel and start your discovery of Zakopane, a popular winter and summer resort nestled at the foot of the Tatra Mountains.

DAY 4 Zakopane - Krakow
Enjoy a morning sightseeing tour of this picturesque town, renowned for its many beautiful wooden churches and chapels. Whilst there, take a cable car up Gubalowka Mountain for spectacular views of the High Tatra Mountains. There are also many shops with local arts and crafts made by the Highlanders (Gorale). Continue to Krakow with a leisurely boat trip along the scenic Dunajec River en-route.

DAY 5 Krakow - Auschwitz - Krakow
In the morning, journey to Auschwitz-Birkenau to visit the Martyrdom Museum. Learn of the atrocities that occurred, and how it cannot be forgotten. After taking this in, travel back to Krakow. In the afternoon visit the Kazimierz, a Jewish Quarter established in 1335, which became one of the European centres of Jewish culture.
Note: Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial and Museum requires guests to provide an ID document or Passport on the day of the tour.

DAY 6 Krakow
Today, be taken on a sightseeing tour, first climbing Wawel Hill to see the Royal Castle and Wawel Royal Cathedral. This is a beautiful location, steeped in history, where Polish kings were crowned and buried. Continue to the old town and the restored main square. Visit St Mary's Basilica along the way where to see the magnificent wooden altar by Wit Stwosz - a renowned late Gothic sculptor, printmaker and painter. In the afternoon after lunch (own expense), join an excursion to the Wieliczka Salt Mine. Salt has historically been incredibly important, and this is evident in the great chambers of this mine.
Note: The Wieliczka Salt Mine tour lasts for 2-3 hours and contains 800 stairs along the entire route, with the temperature staying between 17-18 degrees all year round, so appropriate clothing is required. Also, the lift going down the mine is subject to confirm on the spot.

DAY 7 Krakow
