DAY 1 Zagreb
Your tour commences with an arrival transfer to your hotel. Enjoy some free time in the morning before embarking on a guided walking tour of Zagreb’s medieval Upper Town in the afternoon. Visit the Parliament and Government Palace, St. Mark’s Church with its colourful tiled roof, and Lotrscak Tower where a cannon fires every day to signal the middle of the day. Make sure to stop by the Stone Gate, the only remaining entrance of Zagreb’s old fortifications that’s become a significant landmark and shrine today. Plus take a ride on the shortest and oldest funicular in the world! Overnight in Zagreb.

DAY 2 Zagreb – Opatija – Istria
Head for the coast and into the picturesque town of Opatija situated on the Bay of Kvarner. Once a favourite spot of the Hasburg and European aristocracy, the town still has plenty to offer for the modern day traveller. On arrival, a guided tour will take you through the Angiolina Park, which was named after the first Villa built for tourism purposes, followed by the legendary Lungomare seaside promenade which is over 130 years old. On this walk you will be able to see the iconic Maiden with the Seagull statue. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before continuing to your hotel in Istria. Dinner tonight will be at your hotel and accompanied by local wines from the region!

DAY 3 Istria – Rovinj – Pula – Istria
Get acquainted with the Istrian peninsula on a tour of Rovinj. Considered one of the most photogenic cities in Croatia, Rovinj’s unique location on a small peninsula enhances the Mediterranean feel of the town. On a guided tour, hear the legend of St. Euphemia, a young Christian girl from Constantinople who refused to give up Christianity and was thrown to the lions. Today, the Church of St. Euphemia, set in the heart of the historic part of town, dominates the skyline. After the tour of Rovinj, continue to Pula to visit the Pula Arena, an ancient Roman amphitheatre that was once the site of gladiator fights. The arena was built in the 1st century AD during the reign of Emperor Vespasian and at the same time as the magnificent Colosseum in Rome. Return back to your hotel in Istria but first, enjoy an olive oil tasting experience before visiting the Parish Church of St. Blaise in Vodnjan enroute. Make the most of your last night in the region by feasting on Istrian specialties at a local tavern for dinner.

DAY 4 Istria – Split
After breakfast, depart for Split in the region of Dalmatia. Upon arrival in Split, continue your adventures with an Adriatic cruise, or extend or end your stay in Split.
